This is why New Years Eve is pretty lame

My New Years Eves always have at least minimal amounts of suckage to them. I don’t usually put a great amount of pressure on the night because I don’t expect a whole lot out of it. I do not ever anticipate it as some sort of majestically awesome night that changes the outcome of my entire year. But I do hope to at least have fun.

There have been better years than others, but I can count them maybe on one hand. To add insult to injury, my phone always gets backed up because so many people are trying to call their loved ones and I don’t get calls or texts for at least half an hour. #WhitePeopleProblems.

One year when I was a cheerleader, after coming home from a national competition, I found out I had injured my abs. Talk about painful. You never realize how much you use your ab-muscles until you are lying on the bathroom floor crying to your mom. The same image goes for drunk party girls that just get home on New Years Eve as well.

The few things I can always count on are that the fireworks will scare my dogs, I will not have a kiss at midnight, and The Twilight Zone will play all day. That last one is at least a positive. This year, as I missed going out with my friends due to a nasty cold, I will at least look forward to forgetting to put “2013” on all my papers and annoying all of my professors.

So here’s to you 2013; I hope you won’t be as mediocre as the night that rings you in.
